Supported asset file formats

General information for image assets for emails:

The image width can not extend 600px
The file size can only be up to 2MB
A GIF can be used as long as the file size in no bigger than 2MB

Good to know:

An image with a wider image size than for example 600px can still be used in an email, it will just scale down to the width of the image container.
An image is always set by the width and never the height. Meaning: if you upload an image with a width of 600px and a height of 1200px, the image will have a height of 1200px when you add it to your email. You don't have the option to crop an image in Activator, this will have to be done before the image is uploaded.
If you save an image with text directly on the image, please have in mind the text can't be edited in Activator. If possible, try to use a limited number of images with text.

Email Media Asset Recommendations

Type	Image Size	File type	Resolution
Header image	Width: 600px Height: Depending on size, but keep a max height of 300px, so the user won't have to scroll to much to get to the first piece of content	PNG or JPG	Recommended: 72-150ppi. If the resolution of the image is to blurry or pixelated, you can go up to 300ppi as long as the file size doesn't go above 2MB.
Half side image	Width: 280-300px The reason to use 280, could be if you would like to have a bit of space/air between your image and the element of the other half side.	PNG or JPG
Icons	Recommended width: 50-200px. The width of an icon can be up to 600px in the file size and just adjust your image container to the wanted size. But please remember the bigger the file size, the heavier the email will be.	All icons should be saved as PNGs, this will give them a transparent background and the icons can be used on colored backgrounds. Activator does not support SVGs for emails.

Recommended width: No smaller than 2388px.

This way your image should be able to fit the most used devices (iPad Air, iPad 10.2" and iPad Pro 11")

PNG or JPG

Recommended: 150-300ppi, as long as the image size stays below 2MB.

The higher the ppi the better the resolution and thereby the better quality. But too many high-resolution images will make the loading time of the eDetailer a bit heavy.

avi, mp4, mpeg or mov

Activator supports the following file formats:

OBS:

Your options for specifying where the assets are saved may be streamlined by your organization. That is, not all save location options listed in this guide may be available to you. Please see your local guidelines for more information.
Not all media types may be available for you project, as access to Elements is defined by the creator of the Design System.
It is not possible to edit images in the Activator. Please use 3rd party software such as photoshop to alter images before uploading to the Activator.
